Sabal Point residents have been outraged at the significant upsurge in our residential water bills.  Seminole County water rates have effectively doubled in recent years with approval by the Florida Public Service Commission (FL – PSC).

Astoundingly…another Utilities, Inc. rate increase proposal will be heard by the FL – PSC on February 2 – 4, 2021, with a Staff Recommendation to the Commission on April 8th and a FL – PSC vote on April 20, 2021.

Residents can submit written opposition to the FL – PSC by visiting www.psc.state.fl.us and clicking on “Hot Topics” then “Utilities, Inc. of Florida – Docket No. 20200139-WS” and then “Customer Comment Card”.  The 2-sided Comment Card can be printed, filled in, folded and mailed to the pre-printed PSC address.

Residents can also file an on-line complaint about the Utilities, Inc. rate increase by emailing the FL – PSC at contact@psc.state.fl.us .  Include the above Docket information in your Subject line.

*** Concerned residents can also participate via an on-line petition as initiated by Sweetwater Oaks residents.  Please check it out:  https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/utilities-inc-of-florida-rate-increases .

Please make it a priority and express your views on the proposed water rate increase.  An outpouring of concern by you and your neighbors can have a real impact on our futures…if you do it NOW.
